Hello FP community,
I just received my new Fairphone 6+ in the mail yesterday. So far I’m quite happy with how well it works and it’s performance. I have not encountered any real issues, just something I was wondering about.
The phone is just one day in my possession, and I only transferred the basic apps from my old phone. I have not downloaded any app files like Spotify songs or anything like that. When I checked the storage space I noticed that 50% of the 256GB is already completely taken. I know that Android has increased in size over the years, but 50% is way too full for a new phone without any files loaded yet. When I checked the overview I noticed the following:
‘tijdelijke systeembestanden’, or temporary system files in English, is taking up 77GB of the storage space! I also cannot check what’s in there as it only gives me an explanation field. Does anyone know what content is in here? Will it disappear over a few days or so? I already tried rebooting several times, but that doesn’t seem to help.
My old phone was also a 256GB model, but I deliberately did not do a full transfer as there was a lot of junk in the old phone and I wanted to start off fresh.
Any explanation or tips on how to clear this would be very much appreciated. Best regards,
