Hi. I dropped my phone on the floor this morning and the screen came off. It’s intact, but it doesn’t work. The phone works, but I can’t see anything.
I’d like some advice. Do you think it would work to buy a new screen, or could something else be broken?
Hello and welcome to the community forum.
I am not sure when this picture was taken but connectors do not seem right.
This is the picture from the ifixit guide, which shows disconnecting the display but hopefully it can show what I mean, the connector should be lying flat.
There are also video guides on FP5 website.
Thanks! I see what you mean, I’ll check it out.
Also realize I have a Fairphone 4, so I’ll move the post to the correct forum.
Hi, I have deleted the duplicated post and changed the categorisation tag for FP4. I will not be amending my post though now. If you have any issues finding guides for FP4, please do let me know
Hi Elisabeth,
according to your picture of the FP4 the frame of the display is still attached to the phone body. If you disassemble the frame from the body as described in
you can check if the connection cable is still attached correctly to the connector and undamaged. If the cable is okay and just pulled out of the connector you may put it in again, assemble the phone and try if the display is working again. If so, you may fix it with transparent tape at the top (might blur your photos
) and bottom of the display and order a new display while using the taped phone in the meantime.
