this is definitely where communication will help. bad customer support + missing replacements parts for a month is going to concern a lot of people. saying “Sorry we were late on ordering replacement parts, just had a chat with our suppliers, hopefully we can get them before the end of June, thank you for your patience.” makes a huge difference.
I don’t think people care if mistakes are made as long as accountability is somewhere in the picture. better than silence.
things that are repairable are growing more and more popular recently, you’ll see in some comments of fairphone videos people say “check out this other phone” which is built to be repaired too.
The thing is, fairphone is very vocal about paying workers a living wage and where they source their metals and making things from recycled plastic. etc, i think fairphone is the only one super focussed on doing that. and looks like doing it very well… i guess at least they have that
from what i heard, fairphone’s profit margin is extremely small like… 0.0something% i actually think it’s harder for small companies to make money. i feel like the growth is exponential.
the more resources they put into existing customers, the less they can put into getting new ones. putting too much into new or old, will destroy their original idea. for sure.
I dream of having a phone that lasts for over a decade and doesn’t burn like the blazing sun every time i use it. if my phone just had a slightly better processor it would be perfect. the picture quality is more than good enough, i’ve dropped it down the stairs routinely, and it is plenty fine, i couldn’t care less how thick it is. if there was a way to keep it forever, i would. @_@ so i really hope FP6 has forever in mind. idk if upgradeable parts is too much to ask. I upgraded the same PC a bunch, it must be something worth investing in.
