iRig MIC Cast - minijack microphone

Hi,

I’m going to buy a iRig MIC Cast for field recordings. On their site, it’s not stated it will work with the FairPhone, so I’m going to try it. Unless someone knows it won’t work?
I’ll report here my experience.

I used to use a Mikey Digital with my iPod, but of course the 32-pin-connector doesn’t fit with other than apple products. I didn’t find any adapter.

See you later

Joe posted an item in the old forum on the requirements for headphones, which may provide the information you need.

for our phone that is TRRS (stereo-plus-mic) with OMTP and CTIA/AHJ

Thank you! I guess it will work then. TRRS is what it needs.

I’ve moved this into the Fairphone Help! category.

Hopefully this will work as expected for you, but post back to let us know!

And: YES, the microphone works. It’s not as good as the Blue Mikey I’m used to on my iPod, but it’s also 3 times cheaper
