Hi there! Finally bought my first FP some weeks ago and I am a proud and happy man.
There is one terrible issue, I found some discussions about in 2016 and 2019.
Sometimes the screen turns to hypersensitive and instead of one number / letter it types 5 or 6 times.
That becomes a DESASTER if trying to type the PIN of you open the phone. STarts to steal my happiness about the FP. Had to reset it already a few times (3 times wrong PIN).
Any help on this? Should I send it in and have the screen replaced? Or is it a software bug?

I get this sporadically on FP5 and have yet to work out what triggers it nor a simple means of fixing it without having to completely restart the phone. I don’t remember experiencing this on my old FP3.
So I am not alone… But for you restarting the phone does the job? Did not always work for me.
In the old threads someone speaks about environment and detaching it from the charging cable… maybe we get some more answers. To me it slowly becomes vital.
I think restarting has cleared it up previously, but I will try to pay more attention next time and report back with any observations. It might be the case that it only occurred while the phone is charging, but again, I can’t be sure about that as it stands…
I had my FP5 plugged into a mains charger just now and when I tried to type using swipe input I was frustrated by the hypersensitive screen issue. I unplugged it and the issue went away immediately.
Thanks! I try and check. I have it mostly just plugged in if I am on my desk… That it could be related to the charging cable… I only yesterday got this idea by reading the old thread from 2019. I just hope thats the case! That would be the easy way out. Thanks for the message.

Had similar problems, what helped me was to enable a switch called “Touchscreen sensitivity”, at the very bottom in the display settings menu.
Give it a try if not enabled for you.

I tried something along those lines which I looked up via search the first time I encountered this issue and it did improve, but not completely fix, the sensitivity for typing using swipe gestures, although it did make other aspects of phone use less sensitive as well (such as long-pressing to select) so I ended up switching the setting back off again.
