How to deal with updater.zip

Hi, Community,
I own the FairPone from the second batch and it works pretty good.

Last days I frequently get the file updater.zip (size.1.53kB) via the download function. But when I try to start the file, my installed Ghost Commander tries to open it but fails with message “/all_downloads/822: open failed: ENOENT (no such file or directory)”.
I’m on Fairphone Kola Nut 1.8 and I expect the Update, that was withdrawed in December. Now I wonder, if this file should prepare me phone for that next update.

What do I have to do with this file?

Thank you for your help,

Greatings from the North of Germany,

Ralf

It seems the file is not an updating .ZIP file (normally it should be about 200MB in size) so, given that you are already using 1.8, maybe it is a downloaded info file from the updater, which contains only metadata and not a real system update.
Please consider there isn’t any system update file yet, as 1.8 is the most up to date version until now.
Bye!

Hello @myfpuser,

The file being downloaded it a file containing meta-data about updates. It contains and xml file and a signature and can not be “installed” as such.
