Hi,
for some reason when I turn on the hotspot on my FP6 and connect my laptop it goes to China. See below. My region is italy so I am clearly not in China at the moment, if I connect back to wifi or any other phone my local time shifts back. This means that somehow my operator’s public IP address is incorrectly registered as Chinese in a geolocation database. Does this depends on windows of the phone?
Is there any active background chinese VPN?
This is clearly annoying as calendar meetings and timing in mails start to change and I get easily lost.
Thanks
Mauro

For a start, is your FP6 on Fairphone’s own “Android OS” or on eOS? The latter comes with some presettings that obfuscate your location in the “Advanced Privacy” settings.
Hi, thanks for your reply, I have the standard Android OS from the manufacturer updated to Android 16. I don’t have much customization on these things, so no VNP or other stuff like (adguard DNS). I was browsing in the security and privacy setting and also advanced protection and I could not find anything. I have the developer mode active just to play around with my own apps (if this can help).
