I tried using the hotspot on my devic le for the first time, and found issues with a protected connection.
I can only select wpa3 or none, but not wpa2 or 2/3. Not a major issue, but unchanged the password to something simple and my laptop says the password is not correct. It feels as if the password is not actually changed, only the input field
I also miss the option to limit how many devices can connect to the hotspot.
I tried different network speeds, and tested my device as well, but nothing seems to work to get the wpa protected connection to run.
Are there people with the same issue, or people who know how to fix this?
Not seeing those problems, running 15.148.
Maybe the password is the problem.
Try setting a longer one that’s easy to remember like
the Cat has 4 feet.
I haven’t enabled “Extend compatibility”.
Others agree but the only thing to do is make a feature request to FP.
The wpa2 option refuses to work, but the password was indeed the problem for the wpa3 connection. Adding some numbers solved the issue.
And yeah, i want to send a feature request to FP about device limits, I just thought it was a default android option that was missing, but I guess it was not.
Also, the feedback options for Fairphone are absolutely abysmal, they really kill any desire to provide feedback through official channels with 1. A form with way too many requirements, and 2. A useless bot that just sends you to the form. I know complaining here won’t help, but most modern companies use direct feedback channels like discord or forums like these to interface between the community and the team, and they should really update their info stream to keep a modern userbase happy.
Max connections was a standard Android feature that’s disappeared in A15, maybe before, I don’t recall. FP could put it back in FPOS but I wouldn’t think it would be a priority.
As for WPA2 I don’t know what factor would exclude it. Have you rebooted the phone since changing the pwd?

Good to know. My previous phone had A13, so I expected it to transfer. Thank you for the info.
I restarted the device already, didn’t help.
That said, the working wpa3 connection was stable and fast, so no complains when it was actually working.
Will look for my order details and send a general hotspot request via the forms on the website
