Help: Best overall camera setting

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask if someone already played around with possible camera “settings”. I would be interested in the “jack of all trades” setting which works in most situations (landscape, portrait, and whatever comes in front of the camera).

I started using “Pro”-Mode, usually everything on automatic, with 13 megapixels (4:3).

Do you have any other suggestions in terms of settings, which could potentially improve the pictures taken?

Thanks,
Nestragon

Why do you use Pro Mode when you dont adjust settings instead of using the normal mode with AI scene detection?

Ok, this might have been a missconception on my side then. I assumed that the “pro” mode can do everything the “normal” mode can do. Just that I am also able to change additional settings on the fly if I wanted to.

I guess except for scene detection your concept isnt that wrong. Also pro mode has no HDR what can be a plus… So what are you missing or do you not like so far?

In general, there is nothing wrong with the pictures. I was interested if there is a standard setting others are using which they are comfortable with in any situation.

What I experienced was that static pictues are fine. If someone is slightly moving in the picture it is always blury. I am not sure how other phones are dealing with this (probably mostly within the software).

PS: I found out that there is a “burst mode” available which may help with this issue in good light conditions. I actually was not aware that up to 20 pictures are taken if you hold the “camera” button. In addition, I am aware that this is an issue of shutter speed in medium/low light conditions, but it seems that the automation is not able to handle this. Unfortunatley in such situations I am usually to slow to finding the “correct” settings in the pro mode.

I think that normal mode with AI scene detection is a better option when you dont want to adjust settings. There cannot be one setting fitting to all situations, that just dont work and AI scene detection (maybe also with steady snap) is adjusting automatically as needed when a special scene is detected.

Pro mode is rather for those who do not want to use auto settings.

Yes, you are right. Thanks for the input, then I will try the AI scene detection (as you suggested) and see how it goes.

Ok, just a short update. The combination of burst mode/shot (up to 20 pictures) and the AI scene detection worked quite well for situations with a bit of motion.
