"GPS Signal Lost" Alert

Hello friends. I’m getting a very occasional “GPS Signal Lost” voice alert that comes in on my Fairphone 6 at random and inconvenient times. I’ve scoured the Notifications and Maps settings (I’m on Android) and cannot find a way to turn it off or reconfigure as a banner alert rather than voice. Anyone got a solution?

Also, is there no “Log Out” button on this forum? I’m using a secondary account and can’t seem to leave to sign in with my primary. I’m sure I’m being a stupid Boomer. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Hello
Can help with the log out, tap the account icon in the right upper corner

For the issue with the log out I can help you:

For your technical issue, can you maybe post a screenshot of the notification that appears along with the voice alert!

DOH! the fact that the set of icons on the right were clickable menu items somehow just escaped me. Thank you!!!

There’s none. Just the voice alert!

Can you assign the voice alert to an app? Or is the origin still unclear?
Perhaps you can go here and check which app requested GPS:
Settings → Privacy&Security → Privacy Dashboard → Location
There you can see the apps, that requested GPS.
Sorry, I’m not sure about the correct english menu points, as my phone is set up with german language.

Not only can I not figure out which app is generating it (if it is an app) there’s no record of it in the notification history. But I’m guessing that if this is the first time this has been posted and nobody recognizes the problem it’s not a system function, but one of my apps. I’ve been through the likely suspects though, Da’s zo Gefietst, Google Maps, and they’re all on silent notifications. Google Maps does have a crazy menu spaghetti of settings though, and it may be buried in there somewhere.

That’s strange, that there are no records in the list of GPS access.
This is either no app requested GPS access or GPS isn’t turned on at all.
Do you have GPS enabled or disabled when the alert is coming up?
You can try to disable apps (e.g. Google Maps, …) that you have under suspect by deactivating them individually and temporary to check if the phone’s behaviour changes.
You can deactivate an app by by this way:
Settings → Apps → select all Apps → choose one app and click on it → “Deactivate”

There are some videos on Youtube for fix this. Search on YT for “GPS Signal lost on Android”
