I can’t delete or save an entry via their popup menus - those which offer the choice to delete/save or cancel. It seems to be a touchscreen issue, that only effects certain menu buttons. Rebooting the phone didn’t work. Settings → System → Gestures → Navigation mode and switching from 3-button navigation to gesture navigation and back again then rebooting provides only a temporary fix, but only till the phone goes to lock screen. I have no idea what is happening. A recent Fairphone update made no difference either. I am running Android 15 (FP4.SREL.15.19.2)
the menu button is the so called “three dot menu” I guess? If so, did you try other apps that also have the menu button? If it works at other apps, maybe deleting the cache of Google calendar and Gmail may solve the problem.
With Gmail it is the dialogue menu which appears when I chose to delete an email and it asks me to confirm or cancel. With Google Calendar it is the dialogue menu which appears after I edit an entry asking me to save. With Bitwarden password manager it is the button to unlock my app after typing in the password. So far everything else I have tried works fine.
Rebooted into safe-mode and Gmail and Google Calendar work fine. Deleting their cache didn’t work.
More research. Apparently if booting into safe-mode solves the problem it is likely to be a misbehaving app that is causing the problem. I have about 200 apps installed - removing them one by one is not feasible. I guess a factory reset would be sensible - more research needed to learn how to do it!
