This plugin would be great to guide new users better. You can set it to auto disappear when people reach trust level 2 (customizable). It may also make the theming easier, since this is an official plugin.

Thanks for the idea.
There’s not much information on the GitHub page (or did I miss something?).
Are you sure it’s an official plugin? I didn’t find anything on the Discourse meta pages.
I think there’s already a banner for new users.
