German Corona Warn App - on FP2?

Hi, I installed the Corona Warn app from RKI, but obviously it doesn’t work on FPOOS (which I run on my FP2).

I don’t understand enough of the technology to be sure this is a valid question - but is the “Google API” required for the app really Google (i.e., never to be expected on non-Google OSses) or is it Android (and thus possibly available in future)?

What about /e/? (I am eyeing FP3+/e/…)

Google hat das gemeinsam mit Apple entwickelte API über die Play Services verteilt. Das ist eine Systemkomponente, die wie eine App über den Play Store aktualisiert wird. Google kann damit Features und Patches auch auf ältere Geräte verteilen, ohne auf die jeweiligen OEMs und Carrier angewiesen zu sein.

Auf Google-freien Systemen steht dieser Mechanismus leider nicht zur Verfügung. Ob es Enthusiasten (oder z. B. auch Huawei) gelingen kann, den Mechanismus nachzubauen, bleibt abzuwarten.

Die Entwickler mussten sich notgedrungen an das API von Apple und Google halten, auf eine andere Weise hätten sie niemals die nötige Reichweite für die Corona-Wan-App erzielen können.
