FP6 unresponsive after locking critical

I have just flashed e/OS 3.1.1 A15 onto my brand new FP6 via adb on Linux.
I followed all the steps in Install /e/OS on a Fairphone The Fairphone (Gen. 6) - “FP6” until Locking the bootloader.

The phone was already rebooted (that was probably my fault…) and in the e/OS setup screen when I ran fastboot flashing lock_critical and confirmed it. Then it apparently rebooted a couple of times, but then it went completely dark.

I cannot bring it to life anymore, not by pressing the power button, the power and volume down button. Heck it doesn’t even show anything when I plug it into a charger! WTF?!
Can it even be unbricked anymore?
And I actually bought it with a 3rd party supplier, do I have to send it back there?
Another question, since I live close to Amsterdam - do they have a place where I can go and let it repair while I’m there?

Hello,

You used the flashing script? In that case you needn’t lock again cause the official build script apparently locks the bootloader.
Did it boot into the OS before you tried to lock?

I’m not sure i get this part. What happened when it did that?
Did it boot into userspace?

If you bricked it with fastboot it would still react to being plugged in. You have to consider something like deeply depleted battery as an explanation for the absence of reaction.
Try to let it charge for a bit, with a cable you know works.

Else you would need to send it back. To my knowledge you can’t drop it off cause the service center is a 3-rd party located in France.
Good luck

Yes, I did use that script. But it clearly says in the manual: “The script will flash all required files and will wait for input at the last step. Proceed to locking the bootloader.”

So that’s what I did.

I don’t fully remember. Intermittendly, a screen would pop up where I could “pause the boot”, I remember something in white and orange. Then the Murena logo showed a couple of times and this jumping white circle, and then I think it ended up in the setup screen.
But, if I actually remember correctly now, I then turned it off and unplugged it from my computer, and that was the last sign of it.

That is the weird thing, right? The battery was at 84% so that’s not really possible, is it?

No success with that… do I have to take out and reinsert the battery?
Unfortunately my phone came without a screwdriver, do I need torx / torque or how it is called?

This isnt locking the bootloader so if this is the only you locked you didnt lock the bootloader with this.

Overall a complete unresponsive phone forces you to send it in. Check with your reseller.

I got it to boot again. You know why? I pressed the Power On button for about 10 seconds. Then it started up. Normally, it would need much less of a duration, no?

What happened? Did it boot?

Yes, but only after pressing the power button for a ridiculously long time, while praying to the God of Technology…
I was also able to finish the locking procedure. lock_critical was already done apparently, so I ran fastboot flashing lock and that worked.

Then the phone had just been stuck (crashed) for an unknown reason. If it is stuck, you can always long press the power button (normally rather a bit more than 10s) which even reboots a phone when it’s stuck (has crashed). Same as taking out and replacing the battery.
