I’m running latest build with mindthegapps but RCS isn’t working. It says it’s connected but I can’t actually send or receive RCS messages. No root, unlocked bootloader. It doesn’t pass play certification which I assume is the issue. I can’t relock the bootloader until the security patch level updates. In the meantime, is this specific to the build or is it also an issue for the stock FP6 image and/or Lineage/custom roms with Google GMS in general?
Re: the update notification for stock OS, I’ve never experienced that. Imho this shouldn’t happen (at least as long the Gapps package doesn’t replace the LOS updater with some Google cr..). I’m using microG, so it doesn’t happen here. But the fact that it happens since a couple of days has surely to do with the fairphone OS update that was released at this time. Maybe @ArianK16a can shed some light into it.
Re: the camera issue, it seems to me that it is the app’s fault that it spams new instances of the camera app. Probably an app bug.
Hi everyone, sorry for my absence recently. There’s a lot of stuff going on currently, i found a new flat at the beginning of last month and am still very busy moving and building my kitchen up, combined with my master thesis which i’m currently writing, there unfortunately is no time remaining for the android hobby. I will try to put out a new build as soon as i can with the latest security patches from may, but as usual i can not give an exact ETA for that.
The stock update notifications are definitely not intended, they usually appear due to the google services. I will find out which component is sending these and disable that in the future / submit a patch to mind the gapps.
Regarding the widevine issues, could you please create an issue on github so that i don’t forget it and we can have a dedicated thread for information on that issue? Issues · ArianK16a/android_device_fairphone_FP6 · GitHub
The camera issues seem to be annoying, i didn’t notice a noisy picture with the included camera app, but i will re-check that whenever i get time again 
I can assure you that i want to ship official builds as eagerly as you want to see them, and while we are functionally pretty much there, i still want to clean some things in the git history up, which is not possible anymore once the trees are forked (which is a necessary requirement for official builds). However, it should be no issue to install the current unofficial build, use the OTA updates and once official is finally there, you can manually sideload the official release without the need to wipe your data.

For what it’s worth, nothing happens if you click “update” on the official update, it just fails and says there was an error. It’s not like an insta-brick-phone button or anything.

Now this is the most valuable piece of information! Thanks, the possible need for wiping (again) when switching from unofficial to official has kept me from installing unofficial so far, since the official version was somehow looming.
Other than that, thank you for your great work. And I wish you the best of luck for your master’s thesis. The only way out is through, but at some point it’ll be over and we’ll call you Master ArianK16a!

Hey good luck on the thesis! Just to clarify, I’m using the default camera app and this only comes up with the 0.7 camera setup. The 1x is ok! I saw on the camera app settings there are different configs to play with. If there is a combo that works better, will share or if someone already has a working combo would be great to know

I fixed it! Turn off denoising and sharpening on advanced settings processing. Seems they don’t work as intended with the x0.7 setup.
