FP6 Rebooting and Battery drain

Hi there

I have the same issue with my Fairphone gen 6. I have contacted the support, and after trying everything they told me, they actually sent me a new device. The problem is: The new phone reboots several times a day as well.

In addition, the battery depletes very quickly; from around 50% over night in flight mode till the next morning. Means: In the morning my phone’s dead.

You are in the US or Canada?

And you have rebooting issues and/or issues with network selwction/settings and only since the current update 15.151 or already with the previous update 15.148?

I bought a Fairphone 6 a few months ago. In the last 3-4 weeks it started restarting/turning off on its own accord. I was delighted to read that thnis issue was listed in the update of 13 November 2025. Unfortunately I installed the update and nothing change: my phone this restarted thrice this morning alone. The update did not fix the issue. Just pointing that out in case it’s useful - or if somebody found a way around

Welcome to the Community Forum. :waving_hand: I assume your issue fits into this topic, so I moved it here – feel free to let us know if you are convinced it does not fit in here.

Kindly confirm you are in the US or Canada ir where you are located when this happened

My topic was merged to this conversation and I do not know why. My Fairphone 6 restarts on its own accords several times a day, without the message everyone else in this thread gets on their screens. My phone also randomly stops catching wifi, just constantly on 5G and “network list” is empty. The issue solves itself once the phoen restarts (by me or on its own accord).

@moderators could this please be reported to Fairphone customer service?

Although @Teos did not finally confirm their exact issues and you neither answered the question where you are located, I took out the posts of you 2 and created a new topic for now.

And no we moderators cant report on your behalf we are no employess, nor is the forum a channel to support so kindly visit FPs hompage and xheck for ways to report to support.

Teos did reply, he is based in Switzerland and so am I.

Hi Teos.
You did not answer the question about your network settings and pre/post update experience. That information helps us -community moderators - to easier identify and classify topics.

Your frustration with a phone not fulfilling the expectations is understandable but please also understand this is the community forum. I am glad you are in contact with support as that’s a proper way to solve your issues.

@yvmuell I experiences issues both before and after the latest update. I also tried disabling location, as suggested in the US/Canada forum, but it has not helped.

I share @Teos ‘ frustration with the Fairphone 6. A brand new phone should not have such significant bugs. I hope you can help us find a solution.

A factory reboot did not help either.

which system exactly do you have installed now, kindly post the exact build number to avoid misunderstandings? does the problem persist without SIM card? Did you try to disable 5G? Did you try to disable VoLTE? Did you try to disable WifiCalling… Did you check FPs homepage for troublehooting? A factory reset does not touch the system except for the system settings. So did you after that try without taking over a back-up?

Do you share the same swiss provider, if so which one is it? Do you use 1 or 2 SIM? do you use a SD card and if yes, how is it formatted?

which system exactly do you have installed now?

QREL.15.151.0

Does the problem persist without SIM card?

I can’t not have a sim card, my operator does not do e-sim. Besides I had the same card in the phone for weeks before the issue started.

Did you try to disable 5G?

Same as above: I need 5G and I can’t half-use my phone just because it malfunctions.

Did you try to disable VoLTE?

I disabled it now and will keep you posted.

Did you try to disable WifiCalling?

They have always been disabled.

Did you check FPs homepage for troublehooting?

Yes, I couldn’t find anything.

A factory reset does not touch the system except for the system settings. So did you after that try without taking over a back-up?

Yes it did not work.

Do you share the same swiss provider, if so which one is it?

I use Salt. As mentioned above I used that card in that phone for weeks without issues. The reported problems do not follow an update, it just started one day. But it was not solved by the next update either (see above).

Do you use 1 or 2 SIM?

One.

Do you use a SD card and if yes, how is it formatted?

No.

What I meant was take it out and start without SIM.

And reg 5G: this is for troubleshooting.

And for the FP webpage: you did not find the support section?

Sim card and 5G: since I need both to function, what good would it do even if my phone worked without them? I don’t understand this “solution” to just stop using my phone like a phone and voila! Nonmore problem. I’m sure you can see the fault in the logic here.

Fairphone support: of course I found the support section. I just didn’t find anything relevant to my case.

No I cant as you are TROUBLESHOOTING! However your decision, I’m out.

I don’t see the point in this forum. Regardless of your status, @yvmuell the way you write is not ok . I have borne with your unpleasant tone throughout the exchange in the hope something constructive would come out of it. Apparently that was wishful thinking. If this community is supposed to convince us Fairphone is worth purchasing, it is a failure. I leave even more disappointed than I arrived. Thanks for nothing.

And that is not my problem at all.
