FP5 rebooting every hour or so

Has anyone else been having problems with a FP5 rebooting very often? I have seen this for a few weeks now with occasional reboots, but in the last days they have become basically ~hourly and it’s getting annoying enough.

Since I haven’t seen any such reports here I assume it must be some app and will try to uninstall stuff. But in parallel 2 questions to the forum:

  1. Has anyone seen this before?
  2. Instead of resetting to factory settings (and all the work that comes with it), is there any more granular way of debugging it, e.g. look into log files why the reboot was triggered?

Thanks for any help!

From my memory, this also happened in the past related to 5G. I think Fairphone worked to fix it and released patches in a software update, but it might not have caught all providers.

So you might want to try to just disenable 5G and see if that makes a difference. If this works, you also might want to let Fairphone Support know (they will certainly want to know your provider then).

It might also be related to a faulty SD card or a old/faulty SIM card.

Unfortunately I also remarked it. It could happen up to five times a day, but not daily without any action on the screen

Even by tapping an icon on the home screen, scrolling the home screen the phone is booting.

I guess then it’s better for everyone that faces this issue to first contact fairphone support.

Do you use an SD card or SIM card and tried removing it temporarily on a less busy day (weekend maybe?) to see if that fixes the issue?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Based on these I had disabled 5G and removed AccuBattery (since I had recently installed that) and since then I didn’t have the regular reboots anymore. So I couldn’t test the SIM/SD card hypothesis yet, but thanks for the suggestion.

I am now reenabling 5G (and AccuBattery after that) to rule those out, will keep this thread posted.
