FP5 murena internet issues (e /OS)

Hi all,

sigh… so I got a replacement FP5 because my previous one had issues with the power button. But with this one I find that randomly the internet gives out. Doesn’t matter whether I am on WiFi or 5G. It has problems connecting for minutes at a time and then suddenly works fine again. Anyone run into this and solved it? I am reluctant to contact support again as it took 2 months to get a replacement and they take forever to reply if they reply at all… starting to regret my purchase. Help is appreciated!

As you use e/OS: did you check the privacy/blocker/VPN settings offered are not interfering? I doubt thats a FP5 hardware issue, so did you check the e/OS forum as well?

If you post there, ideally cross link to the this topic there, too (and vice versa). Also make sure to clarify there that you contacted Fairphone support (if that is correct).

Yeah I checked! I know that can slow things down sometimes.- that’s not it though, even with al of that off the connection flakes out quite a bit.
I also think this is a software thing. Haven’t asked on there yet.

I had not contacted Fairphone support about this issue yet because I wanted to see if I can fix it myself first. I just got out of an exhausting cycle to get a new phone after my first one had power button and volume button issues. I also see that customer service is closed until late June. At least their chat is, and support tickets via the official form took 3 months last time I tried to get a reply :stuck_out_tongue:

I would advise to provide more detauls about your settings etc. Does it happen with specific apps? When it happens while connected to wifi, does it connect to mobile data? Did you try anything in such a moment like enabling and disabling airplane mode? Which OS Verison is installed…

I understand your frustration of the previous issues with support, however the focus on this will not help to solve the current issue
