FP5 Android 15 switch touchtone off

FP5, Android 15. It is not possible to switch the touchtone off. I tried under “tones and vibration” → “tones when touching”. I switched to “no”, but no effect.

My Fairphone is also in another issue a bit weird. When I put it my trouser’s pocket, it switches on, although I had switched off the screen before. I tried this several times, it is not that I forgot to switch the screen off. The screen is switched on nevertheless and whatever my back “touches”, will start. This way, Spotify was started and I heard a podcast and it took a while for me to notice, that it was my phone that made the noise. Maybe there is a link between these two issues.

Seems like this setting has indeed no effect because for me it is silent, however I could not get my phone to make touch tones…
How old is your Android setup? Has it gone through a few updates, maybe even a major version upgrade already? Have you tried restarting the phone after changing the setting?

Thanks. But basically these are my settings too. Especially “Wähltastentöne” off, “Töne bei Berührung” off and “Vibration und haptisches Feedback” off

Yes, my Fairphone has gone through some updates, and I have restarted it after change of the settings.

so under which circumstances do you still hear a tone? Keyboard, in general, any specific app?

When I touch the screen to enter letters. But it does not matter the app. This happens in WhattsApp and any other app, where I have to enter letters. The tones do not appear, when I just touch an icon to start an app.

could it be some specific settings connected to keyboard? which keyboard are you using?

yes, maybe! I noticed, that the keyboard looked different since a couple of weeks. For example the keyboard of WhattsApp, see screenshot. There are small letters indicating the letter when the Shift-key is pushed. I did not have these small letters before, if I remember correctly. But honestly, I do not know exactly how to answer the question “which keyboard are you using”? Where can I specify this?
