Kinda by accident I noticed it is no longer possible to purchase FP5 8GB in the webshop.
There has been a promo labelled Fairphone 5 8GB 2025 last chance promotion for quite some time and I have had this hunch that FP5 sales will end in 2025 but I did expect some BF last minute deals tbh…
I believe Fairphone declared the official end of selling of the FP3 and the FP4 each on December, the 31st of 2022 respectively 2024 (I might be wrong with one of the years, but my point is the “final day of the year” thing). Perhaps there is a legal or tax reason (or something logistical) behind this?
The main reason I expected the end of sales soon was connected with the EU label, and FP committing to providing seven years of software updates after the end of placement
the rule or law only applies to newly released products and future devices from that point onward, doesnt it? doesnt get applied backward in time, does it?
Following on that, there is a promo for 6GB version and 8GB version (along with 6GB one) comes back as a refurbished option
Edited to list all currently available FP versions listed in a promotion description (even though blue one is out of stock)
