My FP4 was running low on battery — around 15% — when it suddenly turned off to never power up again.
I tried to plug it on the outlet and after some time tried to turn it on by long pressing the power button or pressing both power button and lower volume button to no avail.
I suspected a battery problem and ordered a new one, but it didn’t worked.
I took my phone to a professional repairman who tested the USB-C port. He declared that the voltage was too low, which could be a problem.
So I ordered a new USB-C port, which arrived yesterday.
Doesn’t work either, my phone is still a brick.
I opened a support ticket on the 5th of May but got zero answer, which is frustrating.
I will try but it is only two mornings per week, I am not always available at these times. I though the actual support request was sufficient as all my previous requests got responses quickly.
It was a response to me. I bought a charger for my phone from FairPhone, it broke so i worte them to fix it/get a reacement and they still didn’t responded after 2 months and i guess this is less urgent than someone phone breaking down.
I have been trying to find a solution to this, as my brand new battery is draining in a day, whereas when I got the FP4 I got 2.5 days on a single charge. Most sites I read said it’s probably a dodgy app update, so force stop, clear storage and then uninstall and reinstall if it continues. I did this with Outlook but it was just the same, so I then deleted any apps I haven’t used in several months. I’ve also restricted background data access to most of those left where I know it’s not going to cause problems (sports apps, browser etc.) I’ve been heavy on the phone today with calls and email and it’s currently at 50%, and telling me I’ve 24hrs battery life left. This is from 90% charge 8hrs ago. This is much more like what I got before so I do suspect it’s software-based. I’ll see how I go and if I do see improvements in the next few days I can update again to confirm if restricting data and killing off old apps is working (or not!)
I have a similar experience with my FP4. I replaced the usb port a year, so this suggest I should have a new motherboard.
Unfortunately I have a similar experience with the customer support as well. After a week I got a response saying that they are busy. And the live chat is not working.
So I guess I have to wait for another 2 weeks to get contact. Or is there another way to get in contact with the support?
