FP4: Bluetooth connection has degraded over last 4-5 months

Hi there,

My bluetooth connection has worsened to the point of being unusable over the past 4-5 months with my FP4. Doesn’t matter if I connect to my car, headphones, bluetooth speaker, etc - the connection stays up but the quality of the audio/call is intermittent and unusable. Initially I thought it was a network issue (call quality poor etc) but I’m now sure it’s something to do with the bluetooth function of the phone. I’ve tried clearing caches, full resets and so on, over and over but the issue keeps recurring, and seems to come back quicker after each reset.

I’ve tried reporting the issue to FP as it is in warranty, but after a week I’ve had no response. I’m not sure if they would see it as a warranty issue given the bluetooth conection still works, but equally I’m not sure what to do - I have replaced the charging port & battery before without any difficulty but the bluetooth module doesn’t seem to have its own modular hardware which can be swapped out.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

I have noticed a similar issue, though not as bad as yours sounds. My bluetooth connection on my car used to be totally reliable, with hours of music played without a problem on some journeys. In the last few months I’ve had regularly breakups where the music pauses, speeds up, slows down etc as it tries to buffer. It’s very unusual. As it’s the only place I use Bluetooth it’s the only issue I can report on this one, as I use wired headphones for music when walking.
