FP3 screen black - how to backup data?

Hello everyone,
i dropped my FP3 and since then the screen is black (but the phone can be turned on, it buzzes on booting).
I hope it’s just the screen and ordered a new one, but that takes time and I would need some data (e.g. from WhatsApp) in th meantime. I thought about accessing it with a tool like scrcpy using Ubuntu, but I do not have USB-debbuging enabled on the phone, so this does not work. I read that there is a way to backup without debugging mode by booting in recovery mode and using adb, but this seems difficult without a working display since you need to “pay attention to the screen” (https://support.fairphone.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048350352) to know when to stop holding the buttons.
There seem to be some recovery tools like https://www.fonepaw.com/data-recovery/ - but they are not unexpensive either.

Are there any other possibilities I could try or do you know a way to enable USB-debugging or boot into recovery mode without a working screen?

Before everything else I would recommend to dis- and reassemble the phone. Maybe it is just an connector issue after the drop. Or is the display visibly broken (spider app etc.)?

Good luck,
Thomas

In complement to what @teezeh said, please have a look if there is a #fairphoneangel in your vicinity. If you ask kindly , they may help you repair your phone, and may be able to lend you a screen in the meantime.

… Expertise, time and willingness allowing I suppose, they are volunteers afterall (as you know as one yourself), it’s better to ask and not just assume that  .
