I think one indicator could be how much they did cost, and how much the follow-up phone costs newly. A new Fairphone 6 ist at 549€ right now. I would think you cannot sell your older generation, used phone for a similar or same price.
A new Fairphone 5 did cost a little more, but years ago. Screen protector and spare battery might add a bit, but I think not too much.
