Followed topics don't show anymore ("Unread")

Back in the day and for many years, the forum used to show me the number of followed topics with new posts in them (IIRC labeled “Unread”).

Then for a while the forum always showed that “Unread” menu entry, but there were no topics (unread or not) listed inside. I assumed it was a forum bug which will eventually be fixed.

Now, since a month or two, even that broken “Unread” menu item has vanished. There is only “New”, and the quite useless “Unseen”. The only really useful one, the one tracking the topics I’ve decided to follow, is gone…

Is this a bug or a feature? Please bring back the “Unread” feature, I don’t want to have to bookmark each topic I want to keep tab on (like for instance the one about the latest FP4 update).

Yeah, I noticed this change, too, after the last update to the forum software.
But I have the impression that what used to be the separate “Unread” menu entry, is now the “Replies” tab of the page behind “New”. To me it seems the functionality is still there but an additional click away. That, and one only sees the combined number of new topics and unread replies at first glance.
It feels a bit more clumsy than before, I agree.

Thanks for that, I would had never found it.

It is definitely “a bit more clumsy”, especially since there was no reason (I can think of) for doing this, but at least one to not do it (Important functions should be at the top level, not in some sub-menu, and seeing in a glance if something new has been added is one of the important ones)… Oh well. Thanks again.

Anyway, I suppose it’s nothing we could do a lot about here. It’s a change of the Discourse platform this forum is using:

I guess. It’s not like you build your own forum software…

As for them – Geez, the busyworkers rule the world… :man_facepalming:
