Fairphone6 /e/-OS turns screen on at the slightest of movements (solved)

Is there a setting to turn of this rather annoying feature?

It leads to unwanted inputs/actions e.g. when putting the phone in my trousers pocket.

Thanks

Andy

My FP6/e/OS only turns the screen and unlocks when my finger lands on the fingerprint reader.

I think that is default behaviour.

Also, if you have e/OS related problems, you could probably better post questions on their community forum.

Thanks for your reply.

I dont think it is an /e/-Os-Issue but rather an Android-Feature that annoys me greatly.

The screen turns on if i move/turn my phone. This often leads an unwanted activated screen.

As you use e/OS its still an e/OS issue. How are your settings regarding this? As I dont use e/OS I dont know where the settings are, for me with FPOS they are under Display.

Same here - a very ‘responsive’ screen rhat seems to turn by air…I suggest a FP issue, as I’m running great LineageOS.

@abo Exactly! :grinning_face: Thats what i mean.

And /e/OS is based on LineageOS, so you both have the same software base…

As @yvmuell said, check the settings for whether your display should turn on on movement. On stock OS it is at Display - Pick up to wake, but on Lineage it might be named slightliy different

Mabye i should rephrase my question. After some phone acrobatics i found out that it is the sensor/button on the right side of the phone. One naturally touches this sensor-button wehenever the phone gets grabed. If i avoid touching this sensor thingy the screen stays dark. Is it possible to deactivate the touch-sensor?

The touch sensor is also the fingerprint reader. If I lock my phone and then touch the sensor with anything but the set up fingertip for unlocking, the phone does not unlock (and vibrates, refusing the unlock).
Check your unlock settings and make sure to not let the phone be unlocked without pass code/ fingerprint/ etc. for the first x seconds after locking it

@janweiss Yep.

That did the trick.

Thanks!

Consider th issue as solved.
