Fairphone moments : block specific apps notifications?

Hi everyone

I tried using the “essentials” default fairphone moment, thinking that it would allow only notifications related to the apps listed in this particular moment, however I kept receiving notifications from WhatsApp.

After a little test, I think I found the reason why, without being sure: I kept receiving WhatsApp notifications from contacts that were authorised to contact me in this fairphone moment (or rather Android’s “Do not disturb” settings)

If it’s the case, I think that only apps that are listed in the current moment should be allowed to send notifications. Or at least to have a way to control this.

Am I missing something? I really don’t want to receive these notifications while still being available to receive phone calls from the authorised contacts.

Thank you!

Hello and welcome:)

As far as I know, this is exactly how Moments were designed to work. Once you choose the starred/preferred contacts, they can bypass all the other restrictions and reach you.

But perhaps you don’t need to use authorised contacts feature but allow all the contacts to call?

Other than that I am not sure you can control that as that was specifically designed in that way. I don’t use Moments though and even if not possible now, maybe in the future

Thanks Meaghan.

It’s just that WhatsApp messages in family groups are frequent and not urgent 99,9% of the time, but I still want to get calls from them.

I’d love to have a setting that excludes or includes only certain apps in this mode. I really thought that selecting apps in fairphone moment was exactly made for that.

Hi, thanks for the reply.

As I mentioned, perhaps there is/will be some further tinkering possible with Moments.

Please get familiar with the CS Article on that, where they discuss the inclusion consequences

Contact inclusion rules take priority over any rules set up in App Notifications. This means that if one of your contacts, that is allowed to contact you while this moment is active, contacts you via an app that is not specifically included in the app notifications rules the message will still go through.
