I’m curious what ping times you get from your fairphone.
When I ping an old galaxy S4 (running lineage) i get about 2-3 ms. But to the Fairphone 5 I get in average 122 ms, this is the statistics from 100 pings:
100 packets transmitted, 100 received, 0% packet loss, time 99106ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 24.353/122.374/1112.749/144.302 ms, pipe 2
So up to 1.1 second.
2.4 and 5 GHz show about the same results.
I have between 5ms and 135ms one my FP5. Checking my wife’s Samsung A35i get the same timing. I’d wager the speed is due to LOS, not the Fairphone…

This just shows that the modem in the S4 is not sleeping

Indeed. When I start a download on the FP5, the ping time drops to 2-3 ms.

ICMP Ping is not a measuring device! It is only intended to distinguish between “live” and “death”.
