I’ve just installed the new Gallery app on my Fairphone 5. I’ve given it the relevant permission (Photos and Videos). All I get is “Seems empty here” and text about setting these permissions. It’s been running for a while (10 minutes or more). If it takes time to get (index?) the photos, then there should be a message saying so.
It found them eventually. A “please wait” would have been useful.
