For anybody who is interested, here is a workaround to redeem the 20 per cent discount for Fairphone 3 owners along with the spare part promotion. I just asked the support:
Follow the below instructions while making your order:
Put a pair of Fairbuds (XL) in the cart that and NOT a Fairphone 4 or 5
Apply the 20% discount code (it will not show in the cart, but it will be applied by inserting it manually in the GIFT CARD / DISCOUNT CODE box and pressing enter)
Add your desired Fairphone 4 or 5 to your cart
Remove the other item from your cart
You will see the discount applied to your order! The Spare Parts Gift Card however, will NOT appear in your cart, this is just visual, and you will correctly receive the Spare Parts Gift Card in an email.
No new deal yet since the spare parts gift card has expired (or: was scheduled to expire yesterday), but bringing back to attention that these deals are still running until the end of this month:
I think one interesting aspect about these is the opportunity to send in a dead (but complete) FP3 for a flat 40ā¬ gift card in return.
Apparently thereās a permanent
(100ā¬ off the previous price) in the Fairphone Shop:
Note that the FP3 loyalty/recycling promotion (see post right above) is still running until next wednesday, too.
Thereās been a photo contest announcement.
Now I have one main question, is it truly so that you can only send one picture?
Until 28 September, 2024 Fairphone automatically includes an extra battery in every FP5 or FP4 order in the Fairphone Shop. Smallprint
A similar deal is also available with many resellers in many European countries, but the expiration date varies and the extra battery needs to be applied for via an online form, see https://promotions.fairphone.com
The free extra battery canāt be combined with the 50ā¬ friend recommendation discount, I guess?
The smallprint sounds promising there. Have a look.
The refer a friend page says this:
Nope. The friend you referred cannot use the discount together with any other sales promotions or discount codes.
Youāre right but still I would have a go and check it through. The small print for a free battery one says it can be combined with other discounts, the small print for the friendās referral says it cannot.
What happens when you add the code?
Best
At some resellers you may have some discount PLUS the second battery promotion.
I get kind of tired of the price and marketing strategy. I just realized the transparent FP5 may be a load cheaper than the sky blue one.
Also why not make the ram upgradable by hardware design and have the same base prices for all colors?
The versions and prices now are kind of all over the place, and Shift Phone is still on my mind.
Sustainability is felt in a certain comfort of less but better choices, which originate from the very concept of a company.
The colors of FP5 are becoming some gimmicky marketing, rather pushing people like myself away, if I have the choice of a similar, less complicated product.
Spare me the promotions, make the thing cheaper or keep the price fair, even if not more people will buy your niche product.
Because itās not possible with the design of mobile SoCs and the prices are the same for all colors, 549ā¬ for 6/128GB and 629ā¬ for 8/256GB.
prices are the same for all colors
Note quite the green one is indeed cheaper (as it represents the 6/128GB version), just saying.
As for the discussion, Fairphone could give a better overview of all their products and comparison options in general. They also shouldnāt have called the 6/128GB Version just āFP5āā¦ maybe āFP5-ā as they did with the FP3+.
I donāt see why one would complain about promotions though. The normal price is as fair as it gets and promotions are short-termed ways of advertisement. If youāve been lucky enough to benefit then good for you. If not, better luck next time.
And yes Fairphones are extremely modular but by far not as modular as regular PCs (which also havenāt been that anymore for quite some time) and never wonāt be as this would contradict any reasonable design choices. Having said that, there are manufacturers (e.g. Purism) who try to push the limits of modularity further but at a very high cost. Like literally but also in terms of form factor or performance.
No, it aināt, as I said the difference that makes the price is the memory, not the color. And you can see that quite easily on the shop page.
Look what I did now
Discount still active until September 27th , itās the best offer, if you go get it yourself at the store, because somehow if you opt not to pay 10ā¬ for a home delivery fee but have it delivered to the shops, there is a discount already, then another 30ā¬ and the 2nd battery is included, which you get from fairphone itself within a certain time after your purchase.

So I got my sky blue FP5 today
But when I wanted to register for my 2nd Battery, the shop I bought it from is missing in the drop down menu.
Here is the promotion site though, it is cyberport.AT (again)
https://www.cyberport.at/angebote/aktionen/fairphone-aktion.html#produkte
From the terms and conditions:
āParticipating resellersā are defined by those resellers advertising the promotion on their website and linking to promotions.fairphone.com. And when I go to the promotions website (with a desktop computer) I see this:
Cool, thank you. Now it is there for me too.
Cyberport was still missing yesterday in this very list. I had written the shop and fairphone just yesterday.
Thanks for all your advice so far!
https://www.cyberport.de/tools/search.html?query=fairphone+5+8gb&page=1 can yāall reproduce this? Iām having trouble getting to the price in your screenshot. Am I too late?
this is how far I got
