Unser kleiner, aber feiner Stammtisch brachte diesmal Fairphoner*innen mit zwei (oder eigentlich noch mehr, aber dazu gleich mehr) FP2, einem FP3, einem FP4 und einem FP5 zusammen.

Carolas FP2 hatte vor kurzem endgültig den Dienst verweigert (siehe oben). Auf einen öffentlichen Aufruf hin wurde sie dann aber mit unerwartet vielen Ersatzteilen inklusive eines Augsburger Core-Moduls versorgt, so dass sie noch weitermachen kann mit dem FP2 – aus verschiedenen Quellen bestückt. Das 12MP-Kameramodul aus dem alten Gerät ließ sich zwar auch durch die Aachener Community nicht mehr transplantieren (siehe den vorherigen Beitrag), angesichts von (mindestens) einem gespendeten 12MP-Modul war das aber zu verschmerzen. Und auch Ulrich wurde zuletzt ungefragt mit mehrere abgelegten FP2s beschert, die er seitdem allesamt in komfortable Custom ROM-Demogeräte umfunktioniert hat (siehe Bild).
Wer derzeit FP2-Ersatzteile braucht, sollte also wohl jetzt in der Fairphone Community generell gute Chancen haben, fündig zu werden. 
Wie wohl auch einige der Ersatzteil- und FP2-Spender*innen hatte sich auch unsere Rheinländer Stammtisch-Gast MrOreo zuletzt mit einem FP5 ausgestattet. Im September noch mit FP3 unterwegs, hatte er sich bei der FP5-Premiere bei unserem Stammtisch von dem Gerät überzeugen können. Nicht notwendig war für ihn hingegen die Anschaffung neuer Bluetooth-Ohrhörer – hier im Forum hatte ihn Incanus auf die 1A-Reparaturanleitung von iFixit für seine “alten” Sony-Modelle gestoßen.
Nicht zuletzt war auch noch das unerwartete und beeindruckende 95-seitige PDF-Dokument Thema, das Fairphone vor wenigen Wochen online gestellt hatte. Darin sind nicht nur zahlreiche FP5-Reparaturanleitungen für Profis (nicht alle darin beschriebenen Schritte sollten von normalen Nutzer*innen angegangen werden), sondern auch zig Seiten umfassende Schemata und Herstellerinformationen gebündelt. Eine beispiellose Transparenz, die Fairphone hier praktiziert. Wow!

Carola’s FP2 hat ultimately ceased to work recently (as discussed above). On her public call for help she was sent unexpectedly many spares including a core module from Augsburg, allowing her to keep using the FP2 – assembled from parts of various sources. While the 12 MP camera module from the old device could not be transplanted (see the reply right above), this didn’t really bother anyone given (at least) one donated 12 MP module. And Ulrich had been equipped with several retired FP2s recently, too – allowing him to transform these all into convenient Custom ROM demo devices (see photo).
So whoever needs FP2 spare parts right now, should have very good odds to find these in the Fairphone Community
Just like some of the spare parts and FP2 donors, our January meetup’s Rhineland visitor MrOreo recently bought himself an FP5. Having arrived at our September meetup still using an FP3, that meetup back then had enabled him a first-hand experience with the FP5. What wasn’t necessary for him were new bluetooth earbuds – @Incanus had pointed him to iFixit’s top notch repair instructions for his „old“ Sony earbuds
Last but not least we also briefly talked about the unexpected and impressive 95 page PDF document Fairphone had uploaded a few weeks ago. This document bundles numerous FP5 pro repair instructions as well as pages and pages of technical schemes and suppliers information (and more). A degree of transparency by Fairphone that probably has no match from any other smartphone company. Wow!
