Planning to buy a new Gen 6 Fairphone. Thought that Murena /e/ OS would have longer update support but the Fairphone store says Android longer (8 years, Murena is just “multiple years” and their AI assistant says it is less than Android too)
I bought a Fairphone 5 a couple of years ago and have installed /e/OS.
I don’t have any problems, banking apps work and I’ve replaced Google wallet with Curve and all is well.
I can’t get the notes app to work, I also don’t need a notes app.
You might want to take a look at the Murena community forum, there are a few people having prolems with FP6 and /e/OS.
Of course, there may be many more that are fine with it but are just not very chatty.
If I was buying a non Google phone now I’d go for a Pixel 10a and Graphene OS ( don’t tell the Fairphone people ).
You can expect /e/OS updates for longer than 8 years.
That was the case when I considered my first FairPhone a few years back. I don’t think it has changed, since this is a very popular phone for custom roms.
