Fairphone 6 not working after small drop

I have a Murena Fairphone 6 running /e/ OS.

I dropped my phone from a height of around two feet onto a wooden floor today, and it powered off on its own after the fall. The phone was equipped with a screen protector and the official case, and shows no visible external damage. Upon attempting to turn it back on, I saw the Fairphone logo presented on the screen, followed by the Murena /e/ OS logo as usual. However, after that the screen remained black with no activity and the phone appears to be bricked. I have attempted:

  • Restarting the phone with the power button (holding down for 30+ seconds)
  • Removing the battery and waiting 30 minutes before putting it back in. I ensured that the connector clicked into place properly.
  • Plugging the phone into a charging cord and attempting to turn it on

Nothing is working. I’m extremely disappointed that this phone has proven to be so fragile, given that I spent so much money on it. Does anybody know how I can fix this?

Hello
just brainstorming here because it feels like a warranty case.
Does the phone vibrate when pressing a power button?
If so, it might be that the display connector got loose.

good luck

I agree with @Meaghan and even go one step further open your phone, take out the battery and check the connections

The user might have done it already. But perhaps checking the screws again will not harm?

The phone does not vibrate when pressing a power button. It does occasionally flash the logo for around 0.5 seconds after the power button is tapped, but the logo quickly disappears and the phone remains brick-like. Most of the time when I press the power button, nothing happens at all. I will pursue a warranty replacement.

I already did that
