Fairphone 6 - Front facing camera has white "fog" over in viewing screen

Hi,

It’s a new thing, but when in selfie mode/using front camera my screen now has a white fog over it. The photo, once taken, comes out OK but I would love to remove it.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello, are you using the screen protector? Can the reason be mechanical?

Hi Meaghan, I am using a screen protector, but have taken it off to check and still it happens.

Ok, could you test it using the My Fairphone App? Is the white fog there?

I’ve never heard of the My Fairphone App. Could you explain in more detail please?

If you are using stock FP OS, not e/OS, there is MyFairphone App preinstalled.
Once you tap support, you can test several hardware issues.

Is that app downloadable for /e/OS maybe an apk available? (can’t find it in App Lounge)

edit: or plans to make it available?

I have Murena software and App Lounge.

MyFairphone App is not available to E/OS users,

I edited the post as I confused the Addressees, apologies @micnocom

OK, I could/should have guessed after your question. If you suspect it is software issue, you may consider asking on e/OS forum, I am not able to help any further as I use different OS.

Hi, a few days before i had the same issue with my FP4. I could fix it by pressing the button for the flash and found that the “fog” is the way my phone trys to enlighten the scene when using the front camera, So for my FP4 (which does not have a LED/Light at the front side) this is not a bug, it’s a feature.

I’ve resolved this by resetting the camera’s default settings, but this is good information also. Thanks!
