Fairphone 6 discharged

Yesterday, my FP6 went black from one moment to the next. I did not succeed in getting it to work again. Only after a night of loading it has come to life again. The mobile is not even a year old. Should I replace the battery? In the menu on the status of the battery, it says now: 1.1.1970…

That it shows the “second 0” of the Unix operating system could indicate that the phone was completely without any power whatsover. IMHO you should contact Fairphone support. There might be warranty on your battery, so getting a replacement I believe is the best option. A battery that failed once might fail again. Cells are electrically in series, so one failing cell will cause the entire battery to fail.

ok, thank you for that information. I will see what they say.

This gives me hope, ‘cause it also just happened to me. My alarm went off, tried to turn it off and now I get no response from it at all :frowning: The battery was indeed low, so hopefully it’s just that.

It’s best to avoid letting your battery fall much below 20%. If you’re regularly away from mains power I recommend getting a power bank.

Mine does too. This appears to be a bug.

For hardware problems it’s best to use the “Diagnose and Repair” option on the official Support website.

In my case, the battery had been on about 75% before the fairphone went black. Since the restart I have no problems, and the battery holds as long as before. hopefully this was just a one-time thing.
