Hi all, my fairphone 5 hasn’t been able to send or receive calls for a few months now. WhatsApp , Signal, and Telegram calls all work fine, the wifi is functional, but regular calling doesn’t work.
I’ve tried switching on/off 4G calling. I’ve tried switching providers (Lycamobile to Hallon). I’ve made sure that the preferred network type is set to 5G/4G/3G/2G. I’m not sure what else to try.
Please help
It sounds very similar to the issue I have with my phone, also in Sweden:
Hello,
Something odd is going on with my calls. When I try to place a call the phone gets kicked off the mobile network. This only happens when roaming, not in my home country. Incoming calls go directly to voicemail. Data and text messages all work fine.
SIM card works fine with calls in another phone (OnePlus and iPhone).
I’ve tried the troubleshooting guide, but I get stuck at the point where I have to perform a service test (dialling *# and 66 etc.) since it seems that is for FP4 and FP5?…
Welcome to the forum.
I assume that you’ve discussed this with your network operators and with official Fairphone support. What were their responses?
Was there any event or accident to the phone at the time when it ceased to receive and make calls?
Can it be related to this?
I have a FP3+ and had Vimla. When they shut down 3G my phone was blocked and I couldn’t use it on their network. I then switched to Hallon (on 3 network) and now everything works fine, except for that caller ID is not working. It tells me “Unknown” for everyone who calls me. I have tried a lot of thing to get this working but have not succeed yet.
