Fairphone 5 Main Mic Failure

Recently purchased a Fairphone 5 second hand off eBay. The listing stated that the SIM card tray was faulty, which I knew is an easy fix by replacing the top module. To my surprise the SIM slot works, however I have just discovered that the main mic is faulty instead!

I have diagnosed it to be the main mic by dialing 2886 with stars and hashes, and I have tested all 3 mics with mics 2 and 3 giving a clear response to my speaking voice.

In my research I find that the microphones aren’t user replaceable?! So in my modular smartphone one of the few parts to break is not fixable?

Is there anything I can try reseating ribbon cables or any workarounds? As I bought the phone second hand I am assuming I have no warranty etc.

Update:

I sent the phone away and they repaired it at the official service centre in France. The phone was still in warranty, despite me buying it second hand, and they repaired it at no cost!

Despite the failure of a non modular part I cannot recommend Fairphone’s service enough.
