In my view, it was a bit mysterious that long-time Fairphone dealer vireo.de (based in Germany) was not offering the Fairphone 5 from the start, see Where To Buy | Fairphone and ✏ List of Fairphone 5 Resellers . This has changed now and Vireo is now offering the FP5, too.
i think it’s worth being mentioned here because apart from offering a convenient purchasing option in Germany, Vireo has traditionally allowed aspiring Fairphoners outside of Europe to buy and receive a Fairphone device as well as spare parts and accessories where they live. NOTE: Don’t forget that this does not result in an expansion of official Fairphone company support beyond the European countries it serves and Taiwan.
ADDITION: The company impressum now states an address in Dortmund (so far Vireo resided in Merseburg in the German federal state of Sachsen-Anhalt). No idea if this is just for legal reasons or if it indicates a complete move of the company. If it’s the latter, it might provide a possible reason for Vireo’s long FP5 “abstinence”? In other places the site still mentions their Merseburg seat.
