I bought a refurbished Fairphone 3 in October 2022. I bought the charger with it but had to buy a cable. That cable worked and still works but doesn’t fit very well so I am currently holding it in with an elastic band. I have tried different cables but none of them work. Any ideas please?

Check the USB port whether there is debris in it or any obstacle.

Tried that already and bought another cable. I’m going to order one of the Fairphone USB C cables to see if that helps.

The charging port might be loose or damaged. Does it only charge when you stabilize the cable in a certain angle?
Unfortunately the FP3 bottom module that includes the USB port (for charging and data transfer) is currently not on stock, but the general hope is that it might become available again from the middle of this month.
P.S.: You said you bought the device refurbished, so it’s probably still under warranty.

Thanks for the reply. It seems only to work when the cable is tensioned with an elastic band keeping it plugged in. I bought the phone in October 2022 so not sure about warranty. Do you know the cost of upgrading the phone from 3 to 4 please? If that is possible!

Just to make sure: Warranty is not about returns, it’s about the right to get it repaired. But the first contact for that would be the seller.
There is no upgrade program at Fairphone, just a Recycling Program.
