I can’t work out how to copy and paste text and phone numbers from the web or the phone directory

Usually you long tap a text to select it and then some options - including “copy” should pop up.
In some cases - like in the dialer - it’s different, for that see here:

Thanks but i still can’t figure out how to copy from the phone register. There i can only paste
