Fairbuds XL not compatible with iPod touch?

Hi folks!

I received the Fairbuds XL last week for my birthday, I own an FP5 so knew quality was good. Updated my iPod touch 6th gen (the last gen) to the latest version and installed the Fairbuds app.

The app and headphones work fine on my FP5, I can adjust the EQ etc. and all good. But on the iPod, the app can’t detect my headphones, and just sits at the screen asking me to turn the headphones on, when they are already on and playing music from the iPod.

Unfortunately, the standard EQ preset makes my music sound really muddy. So unless I can get this fixed, I’ll have to send the Fairbuds back- the whole purpose of buying them was to use with my iPod, where all my music is, not my phone where all my work emails are :joy:

Any help would be super appreciated!

From what I remember, detecting the Fairbuds XL on a phone required location to be on (on the phone). Now I don’t know anymore when the final incarnation of the iPod touch was released, but I am not aware if it was equipped with location at all?

FP is rumoured to be working on improving Fairbuds XL.

How long can you hold?

Please note these are just rumours and you might be better off sending them back and repurchasing once the improvement is there.

It does indeed have location services, but the Fairbuds app can’t seem to access them (which would be an issue with the app, not the iPod).

I may have to. I don’t want to shell out money for non-repairable headphones, but I also can’t use these! The sound is AWFUL.
