It seems there is an update to the Fairbuds app which takes the app to version 3.4
Am I late to the party or is this really new today?

In Google Play Store it is displayed as updated two days ago, I think you are not late 
Out out the 21 reviews in 2026, 19 are one star, 2 are two stars. And according to the quote above it did not get better. Let’s hope that’s not true for everyone…
The update seems to have broken my Fairbuds app (on Fairphone 4). It can’t even get past the loading screen before crashing 
The same here on Fairphone 3. The new Fairbuds app crash immediately.
If the app keeps crashing, you might want to give resetting it in Settings > Apps > All apps > Fairbuds > Storage and cache > Clear storage / cache a try. Note: This will require pairing anew your Fairbuds / Fairbuds XL with the app.

Sarcasm aside, clearing app cache fixed it, and it’s business as usual. I set the EQ like two years ago and never opened it again.
Reinstalling the Fairbuds application (version 3.4) also resolved the stuck on loading and crashing issues on my Fairphone 5 (FP5.VT2M.C.084.20260128)
This is only an update of the app and not a firmware update, right? Unfortunately if the video/audio delay issue is not fixed, I can’t get the Fairbuds.
