✏ Fair / eco / sustainable fashion

Here is a wiki to exchange ideas and recommendations about ecological, fair and/or sustainable clothes, cosmetics and accessories. For fair electronics projects and devices, check this wiki. Feel free to contribute!
I added just a few links, as this is a really vast market with lots of brands and shops. For further information I would advise to check the blogs.

Clothes Certifications

It could be useful to add some certifications next to the brands (with an ”*“ (asterisk) if not all the products are concerned). Here are some to begin with:

Cosmetics

Cosmetics Certifications

It could be useful to add some certifications next to the brands (with an *asterisk if not all product are concerned). Here are some to begin with:

  • BDIH International Organic and Natural Cosmetics Corporation
  • ecocert
  • NATRUE The NATRUE Label sets a high standard when it comes to defining the naturalness of cosmetic products. It helps consumers identify Natural and Organic Cosmetics truly worthy of that name.
  • Tierversuchsfrei/Crueltyfree It’s the globally recognised guarantee that a brand has made a genuine commitment to ending animal testing for its products. Certified companies must meet rigorous criteria, including independent audits, before they can display the Leaping Bunny logo.
  • Vegan Today, products must pass the following criteria to be eligible for registration. A dedicated and experienced team check each individual product application against the criteria, and query any potential inclusion of animal ingredients, including those not present in the final product.
One has to keep in mind, that companies may chose not to apply for a certificate, but still to follow the rules. E.g. some company may be certified or recommended by Peta (like Less is More, Paul Mitchell or Pachamamai).
