Everytime the FP earbuds connect, the phone calls the most recent number that was called

No, it stopped after manually disconnecting and reconnecting the earbuds, but it comes back again intermittently.

Did the support not come back to you at all concerning your ticket?

At the risk of preaching to the choir, there is a more thorough (i.e. more than just unpairing in the phone’s bluetooth settings) procedure of unpairing/resetting the earbuds from your Fairphone described in Fairphone’s TWS support article (article mentioned before, but I think the below was added later):

Unpair:

To clear the pairing records or reset your earbuds:

  1. Put both earbuds back into the charging case
  2. Keep the cover open
  3. Push and hold the button on the bottom side until the LED lights blink ten times.

In case of issues (like mono instead of stereo): please unpair the earbuds and pair them again.

Some of you might have already known and applied this, but from briefly browsing through all the comments here, I wasn’t sure.

They did, but at the time it had stopped doing it so it wasn’t possible to follow up further. If yours is still ā€˜live’, happy to support your ticket as it is still happening to me but not as frequently (for whatever reason), it did this again maybe a week back but I unpaired and repaired (to fix another issue) and it is now not doing it again.

Hey Guys,
I have a Fairphone 4 and the first generation of the tws earbuds. Since one week or so I have this problem: in some cases it takes more time until my earbuds connect to my phone. In these cases the last number I called is dialed by my FP…

In case this is a software problem: My Build number: FP4.TP2D.C.0112.20240313

Do you have the same experience? I’m grateful for ideas how to solve that problem. Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Is that fully systematic? The earbuds always call the last number after a lengthy connection wait, but that never happens otherwise? That might help a lot in tracking the bug down.

Yes, that was always the case. Today it happened some seconds after I put them in my ear… In the past it never took them so long to connect. The were connected before I had put on both. Now it usually takes a bit longer. And in a few cases (once every two to three days) I have this problem…

Have you reset your earbuds as described in post 23 above?

You’ll want to have the FP4 ā€œforgetā€ them too.

I only read that some hours ago. And so far there was not enough time to test it. I’ll let you know, if it works

Good evening,
The reset worked until today. My phone/earbuds just called a colleague… So it was just a temporary fix… I’d be grateful for ideas

None apart from the reset. Unfortunately people haven’t been reporting back with their progress or with any solutions offered by FP Support, but I noted that no-one wrote in on this thread between October 22 and April 24 and thought that maybe an update had fixed it.

From all I read, Fairphone always said they were unable to deliver any firmware updates for the TWS earbuds (a product not developed by Fairphone and likely one whose firmware they cannot access).

As to the actual issue, it has never occured to my own TWS earbuds in the two years I own and use them. However, I also never really used them for phone calls. I only ever used the TWS earbuds with my FP3+ running /e/OS (in the past that actually did not let me take calls with the TWS – the caller would not be audible in the TWS, but still just from the FP3+ itself. I would not rule out that this (different OS) might be relevant for not encountering the issue.
