Not sure if it was from the start using FP5, but for sure a long time now I notice that the media player is always pinned. That while I have this option disabled.
I use PowerAmp only and notification set to silent, if is some other not-silent show, PowerAmp is on oneline (with control), if not is on more lines.
If i now switch PowerAmp to not-silent show same on more line but in not-silent section…
Anyway i look into PowerAmp Settings/LookAndFeels/Notifications and have set “Notification Type” to “Media with custom cover”, if i set to “Auto” or “Media colorized” then is pinned ;-)
This isn’t an issue for on device media. I have noticed with that device pin disabled. You have to have the screen on instead. I think this could be related to the software always phoning the servers to serve you adds and other server related activity in the background. If you happen to have any CDs or purchased media from services like iTunes and also have a PC to transfer the content to the phone in a supported format like MP3 or M4A. This device can then play this content from a file explorer program. The same for videos, pictures, etc. Then the popup can be removed without issue. I find FE file Explorer Pro quite useful for this reason. Most people don’t know this fact because people would rather pay for subscriptions than purchase the content separately. The more you know.
And its disabled for you and still the media player is fixed?
That should have no influence, to the media player being fixed into the quick settings menu, thats not a notification
Edit: disabled media player being fixed, all notifications were off for both Spotify and Bookbeat and both media player stay in the quick settings menu as long as I dont actively close them, playing something or not. @Sietse I guess you need to report to support as bug
Thats a notification not the media player in the quick settings…so not sure how to troubleshoot further, will try to disable the media setting and reboot and enable notifications to see if it changes something. What @Sietse showed in their imitial post is no notification but the media player in the quick settings, so 2 different things in my eyes
Edit: still with fixed media player disabled, and all notifications enabled I have the media player in the quick settings with Spotify, Bookbeat, VLC and Antennapod…
Ohhhhh, I tried it on my Fairphone 3 (with FPOS / A13) to see if I can reproduce it there. First I thought it is working fine and it is… but as soon as I tap play/pause or change title, the controls appear again, lol (see video). Yep, must be a bug of FPOS or something.
yes, maybe i don’t understand #0 question i read as “not want eat big part from notification ‘panel’” if not solution switch to old good small (real) notification, ok
The “MediaPlayer” in the QuickSettings is not a user app!
It is ALWAYS displayed when media is played.
To turn it off, simply press and hold it and then select “Turn off”
If you can’t, the MediaProvider (Spotify etc) dont want
It’s worth trying several times! With LOS21, for example, it also works with Spotify after music has been stopped/started in Spotify.
I don’t know if that’s a bug or a feature
