Android […] [war] schon beim Erscheinen des Smartphones nicht auf der Höhe der Zeit.

Das Fairphone 2 war am 16. Juli 2015 vorbestellbar, war also zu dem Zeitpunkt “fertig”, mit dem damals aktuellen Android 5.1. Android 6 kam erst später, am 5. Oktober 2015.

Nö. Solange sie das OK von G%§$e nicht haben ihre Version von Android 6 zu veröffentlichen, dürfen sie nichts davon öffentlich machen - auch keine abgewandelten Versionen.

Das stimmt nicht. Ich weiß nicht welche teile von Android unter welcher Lizenz stehen aber zumindest der Kernel steht unter GPL wodurch fairphone sogar verpflichtet ist jedem den sie eine Version dovon geben auf nachfrage auch den sourcecode zukommen zu lassen.

Der größere teil vom restlichen Android ist laut Licenças  |  Android Open Source Project
Apache 2.0 lizensiert.

Nun weiß ich natürlich nicht was für Verträge fairphone mit google hat, glaube aber nicht dass fp-open von denen betroffen ist.

Leider hat das GNU Projekt nicht so fancy Anwälte wie G%§$e, daher sind die Verträge mit G%§$e wohl das woran sich Fairphone halten wird.
Wenn FP sich nicht daran hält verlieren sie die offizielle Unterstützung.

Yeah, why not … if the people porting it would just hurry up please …
And while we are at it, Sailfish OS works pretty well on the FP2 already but could use an Alien Dalvik license, and where was this Ubuntu Touch again?

The FP2 is a fine base for alternative OSes already, and Fairphone are officially supporting a minority of users with an Open version of their Android already. Officially supporting another small minority choice for an alternative OS could well be quite at the end of their priority list at the moment I guess.

But just in case … Sailfish OS with Alien Dalvik, please … and an officially supported port of EFIDroid .

If somebody helps me with my system_server crash on LineageOS 14.1 (Android 7.1!!) I would be a bit further to a at-least-booting build… But unfortunately nearly all people in this forum do not have the skills to do that and asking in the official #lineageos-dev channel on freenode doesn’t yield any results either…

I’d prefer an as-close-as-possible (i.e. only with some Fairphone branding) to AOSP Fairphone Open OS. This could then serve as basis for any porting efforts for other Android OSes, e.g. Lineage.

What kind of help would you need? I’m no rom baker, and also a bit short on available time, but I’m deep in Linux and might help if it’s going to be review or log checking…

I’d like to know about the camera. Actually, I did not buy a FP2 yet, because I heard of the bad camera. And the camera is one of the most interesting tools of a smart phone for me. Could you tell me something about it? Thank you!

If you aren’t familiar with the Android internals, I think it wouldn’t help with anything tbh.

So, nun haben wir den 23.April und fast jeder hat schon Android 6 installiert, mal die Version 17.04.3 mal die 8.
Wann ist denn nun das offizielle Release ?
Mein Updater sagt immer noch 1.13 wäre das aktuellste OS

Das würde ich so nicht sagen. Der Update war nur für ein paar Stunden verfügbar und nur wer in dem Zeitfenster den Updater-Update aus dem Play Store bemerkt und installiert hat und genug Zeit, Akku Leistung und WiFi zur Verfügung hatte konnte auf Android 6 upgraden.

Letzter Stand der Dinge ist, dass die Leute die jetzt auf Android 6 sind bereits einen weiteren beta-update erhalten haben der “schon sehr nahe an den offiziellen Release heran kommen soll”. Das heißt wohl, dass zumindest noch ein weiterer beta-update kommt, der für ein paar Tage getestet wird ob alles passt, dann an G%§$e geschickt wird und wenn alles passt dann an alle veröffentlicht wird. Also rechne mal lieber mindestens noch mit einer Woche.
