A lot of my contacts have suddenly been “forgotten” from my contacts list. Others are still there.
Does anyone know why this might be? I am not aware of having done anything strange.

What OS are you on? Fairphone OS (with Google services preinstalled) or Fairphone Open OS (without Google services preinstalled)? Which version?
Did you update recently?
Do you sync your contacts with something (Google, Outlook, cloud service, local PC)?
There’s an old post about something like this, but without an answer or a solution, and recently there were several reports of different problems with contacts when updating Fairphone OS to the latest (now Android 6 based) version.
