I’m using the Fairphone 4, all updates are Up to date, but my Contacts keep disappearing.
I’m Not deleting them on purpose. Is there a way to fix this?
Can I save my contacts just with a Google account or can I save them on my SIM Card to prevent them from disappearing?
Welcome to the Fairphone community.
Modern phones can sometimes read contacts from the SIM card but can’t store them. Mostly because the space is limited and only phone numbers can accompany the names, no addresses, comments and so on.
I prefer to synchronize my contacts locally with MyPhoneExplorer to my computer. But first you should try to find out, what happens to your contacts.
How do you save them now? Because yes sure you could use a Google Account and synchronize them. When you add a contact you can choose under which account it should be added, locally/phone, Google…
Can you explain what exactly happens? Are the saved and then disappear after some time, like days ot weeks?
@yvmuell they are saved via a google mail adress, if I want to save a number I see the adress as the only option to save it.
Now when i save someone to my contacts, they stay there usually for a couple of days, but if I get a call/text from that someone, insteat of they’re name, there is only the number seen on my screen and Chats are completly empty appart from the massage that I got. (Just like when someone texts you for the first time)
The crazy thing is, when I want to save said number again, the pop up of the contact opens up with everything filled out correctly. (Name, Number, mail adress…).
When I save them again, all the chats are back and the Name appears again.
This happens constantly with all my contacts.
Can it be something in the settings of my Phone maybe?
@Incanus would it help if I get an extra SIM Card for extra storage space?
No, that doesn’t change much, still only one number could be stored with any name, not more.
Did you store or synchronize your contacts with the PC now or in a cloud?
Ah ok…
I store my contacts in a Cloud (Google Mail Account).
