Clarification about flashing e/os to stock FP5

I wanted to flash e/os on my FP5 that’s currently running the up-to-date stock os.
The guide specifies that I can’t have a locked bootloader while the phone is running an android patchlevel below what was previously on it.

The current patchlevel is 2025-12-05,
e/os specifies patchlevel 2025-12-01 .

Am I right in assuming that:

  • If I flash my phone now, as long as I don’t re-lock the bootloader, the protection wont trigger in any case
  • If e/os runs on the device, and it eventually updates to a more current patchlevel, I can re-lock the bootloader with no risk
  • There is no way to recover a “bricked” device if the protection does trigger and fails fatally?

Thanks

Yes

Normally correct, no risk can noone confirm.
Remind that a relock causes a factory reset

Fairphone can recover and costs are around 50€
