Cant "Force close" warning

Hello forum
I just received my Fairphone today. Nice.
Since I use iCal on my iMac-and until today on my iphone- I wanted to sync that with FP. So I downloaded SyncMate. And I sync’ed the 2 devices.
I seemed to be working OK. But now I cannot enter the FP. It says “Waiting for Debugger. Application Fairphone OS(process org.faiphone.launcher) is waiting for the debugger to attach. Force close.” And when I press “force close”, nothing happens. Actually, I have no clue what “debugger” means…I tried to restart it. And already searched a bunch of forums on the net, but no luck.
I’ve been using Apple products forever, so i’m not familiar with the Android universe.
Can you help me?
Thanx- Nils

Hi @nils_davidsen

Did you manage to get this working or are you still having problems?

Hi Nils,

I recommend you to read the following articles, they will explain how to sync the calendar by just adding the account:
https://support.google.com/calendar/answer/99358?hl=en
and http://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-use-caldav-on-iphone-to-sync-google-calendar-without-exchange/

I checked out SyncMate, and it got some bad reviews in the Play Store, bugs and glitches etc. I recommend you to be careful before installing an app like this, and do some research on the internet first. If you want to use an app, and the above links don’t work for you, try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.caldav.icloud&hl=en

About your problem with the phone: can you still get into your phone? If so, try to uninstall the app and reboot your phone. Also, check System settings -> Developer options -> and in here check the USB Debugging settings. If problems persist, you can perform a hard reset on your Fairphone: https://fairphone.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/201134418-How-to-perform-a-hard-reset-on-my-Fairphone

Cheers,

Rick

Hey, I have the same problem as said above and I can not get into the phone anymore. Any possibility to reset?
Whats the little hole on the bottom for?
Thanks so much for any help
Marie

It’s the microphone, don’t stick something into it!

Take the battery out. As soon as the phone is restarted, uninstall the app, which is causing the issues. Does it work out?

Unfortunately its not an app causing the problem. but i found a way.
Simply press the voume up button and the turn-off button for 10 sec.

So problem resolved?

well i think once i did a factory reset. or should i use your option?
is that the better way?

Taking out battery didnt work. doing a factory reset. let u know later

I’m not sure, if I understand. If your phone works without problems, you don’t have to take out the battery.

If your phone doesn’t react anymore, the first thing to do is to take out the battery and restart the phone. If the problem appears too often, a Hard Reset is recommended.

It says “Waiting for Debugger. Application Fairphone OS(process org.faiphone.launcher) is waiting for the debugger to attach. Force close.” And when I press “force close”, nothing happens.
That was my problem

Did the hard reset resolve your problem?

Uhm I saw that message once while trying to run and debug my first App: try to go in “Settings->Developer options” and deselect (if checked) the Application selected for debug (please forgive me if the descriptions don’t match yours because I have an Italian localization), this should solve the problem (at least for me did, that time).
Bye!
